This lid is CNC-cut from 3/8″ clear polycarbonate to the outside size of the Fluval Flex 9's glass, with a lip that sits inside the glass so it cannot slide and a mesh window in the middle for optimal gas exchange and light penetration. It works as a screen top and jump guard: fish and invertebrates stay in the tank while light and air pass through. The Flex 9 is an all-in-one tank, so the lid covers the display area and stops at the filter chamber wall.
Add a feeding hole with a black or white cap, cutouts for hoses, wires and light mounts, a feeding cup or a removable evaporation cover in the configurator above. You approve a digital proof before anything is cut, and the lid ships free to the contiguous US, usually within a week. If it doesn't fit because of our error, we remake it at no charge.
The Flex 9's curved front is below the rim, so the top opening is a straight rectangle and the lid is cut to it. It covers the display and stops at the rear filter wall, leaving the chamber covers and pump as they are. The lip sits inside the glass, so the lid stays put even with a lively betta, a shrimp colony or a pair of clowns underneath.
If you have taken the Flex hood off for a stronger light, this is the jump guard that goes in its place. The mesh window passes the light; the clear polycarbonate frame keeps the look of an open tank.

Fluval Flex 9 Lid Questions
- Does the Flex 9 lid fit the curved front?
- Yes. The curve is on the front glass below the rim; the top opening the lid sits in is straight on all four sides.
- Is the Fluval Flex 9 lid one piece?
- Yes. The Flex 9 lid is a single panel of 3/8-inch clear polycarbonate with a mesh window, so it lifts off in one piece.
- Does the lid come with a feeding hole?
- A capped feeding hole is an option in the configurator: choose a black or white cap and drag the hole to the corner you feed from. A feeding cup that holds food at the surface and a removable evaporation cover over the mesh are optional too.
- Will the lid work with my light?
- In most setups, yes. The lid sits inside the glass below the rim, where arm mounts and clip-on lights attach, and the mesh window passes the light. If a bracket, a hang-on filter or a cord crosses the glass, add a cutout for it in the configurator and it shows on your proof before we cut.
- How long does a Fluval Flex 9 lid take?
- You approve a digital proof first; the lid is then cut and ships free to the contiguous US, usually within a week of approval.
- What if the Fluval Flex 9 lid does not fit?
- Every catalog lid is guaranteed to fit the model it is listed for. If it does not fit because of our error, we remake it at no charge.
