This lid is CNC-cut from 3/8″ clear polycarbonate to the outside size of the Fluval Spec 16 (16 Gallon)'s glass, with a lip that sits inside the glass so it cannot slide and a mesh window in the middle for optimal gas exchange and light penetration. It works as a screen top and jump guard: fish and invertebrates stay in the tank while light and air pass through. The Spec 16 (16 Gallon) is an all-in-one tank, so the lid covers the display area and stops at the filter chamber wall.
Add a feeding hole with a black or white cap, cutouts for hoses, wires and light mounts, a feeding cup or a removable evaporation cover in the configurator above. You approve a digital proof before anything is cut, and the lid ships free to the contiguous US, usually within a week. If it doesn't fit because of our error, we remake it at no charge.
The Spec 16 is a long, narrow all-in-one with its filter section at one end, and a long shallow tank is the easiest kind to jump out of. The lid covers the display and stops at the filter wall, so the pump, media and the stock cover over the filter section stay as they are.
The lip sits inside the glass and the mesh window runs nearly the whole length, so a slim LED still lights the full scape. Put the feeding hole at the open end and add a cutout for the light cord if it drops into the tank.
